Adoption

THE CRISIS

More than 5.6 million children in Ethiopia are missing one or both parents. In 2018, inter-country adoption was banned, but there is not yet a strong culture of domestic foster care or adoption.

THE CYCLE

Vulnerable children often end up trapped in institutional care. Those aging out of orphanages are at high risk for exploitation and unplanned pregnancy. The resulting child often is abandoned in an orphanage, continuing the cycle.

THE SOLUTION

We believe every orphaned or vulnerable child deserves a loving family through reunification, kinship placement, domestic adoption, or small group homes.
